OP1 Creative Carry

I saw this recently interesting placement of a Triple Aught Design pouch, the OP1. Most of the time I see this pouch attached to the outside or inside of a pack. This is usually, but not exclusively, TAD packs. Ben Bryden has attached this Foliage Green pouch to his belt as a way of carrying items really close at hand. 

Ben reported that it was a great way to conceal carry in the woods without drawing attention to yourself and as you can see from the above image the elastic storage sections work really well to keep gear in place when the pouch is opened.

The OP1 is currently out of stock, but with all the re-releases of new TAD pouches we’ve seen recently, I wouldn’t be surprised if a restock of what is arguably their most popular pouch is on the horizon.

Wow, where to begin…

1. Pouches
I love the look of the pack in this shot. I like the different pouches, the mix of colours, some are black, there’s a tan one thrown in there, and two OD green. It’s kind of like, I’ll get the pouch I need, doesn’t matter what it looks like. I quite like the result. The simple green patch adds to this overall image.

2. Attachments
Not just the pouches, but also the Tactical Pen, two bright blue carabiners and the paracord bracelet. There’s plenty of molle on the EDC Fast Pack to attach 4 pouches, these other additions and still have room for more! The carabiners and paracord bracelet are not only useful in their own right, but also add functionality to the pack.

3. Kit
This seems like a pretty staple load-out for most survival situations. I’d be happy carrying any of these items (minus the gun, being in the UK). Most of the hardware: gun, fixed blade knife, flashlight (Fenix PD30?), Wave multi-tool, follow with the predominant black theme of the whole pack. The walkie-talkies are a great idea, especially if you’re likely to get separated from whoever you’re with.

It also looks like an awesome pack to take on a fun weekend away with the kids, just sayin’

Make Your Own Battery Converter/

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Batteries
• Aluminum foil

If your flashlight only takes AA batteries and all you’ve got are AAA batteries, wrap up a ball of foil and stuff it into your device where the battery’s negative terminal connects. If you have enough foil to fill in the gap, your device will turn on. This works as a great temporary solution for any situation where you have the wrong size batteries.

‘Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ is coming to ABC, sneak peek airing on Sunday

Last year ABC gave writer-director Joss Whedon the go-ahead to shoot a pilot for a television show set in The Avengers universe, and Deadline reports that the network has picked up the show to series. Entitled Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the show will focus on — to no surprise — a group of agents from the fictional global law-enforcement agency S.H.I.E.L.D. The show will star Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, a character that has appeared in several of Marvel’s films up until this point. The character of Agent Coulson died in The Avengers (or so it seemed), but it’s not exactly clear how Whedon and his team plan to get around that particular hurdle.
